Castro Flubs Lyrics
6-May-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril
Castro, the 20-year-old folksinger, seems likely to leave Wednesday.
This season of American Idol, after tonight’s show, has seen three contestants screw up their song’s lyrics.
First it was Idol favorite David Archuleta, followed by the most recent castoff, Brooke White, and tonight’s show saw dreadlocked heart throb Jason Castro fumble the lyrics to Bob Dylan’s “Mr. Tambourine Man.”
Castro, the slacker, as many refer to him, forgot the words to the second verse of the Dylan classic. But, as he is known for, Castro did not seem to care in an interview afterwards.
“I lost some lines in there,” Castro said smiling goofily. “That’s kinda bad.”
Simon Cowell, like many others, thinks the flub could mean the downfall of Castro.
“Jason, I’d pack your suitcase,” Cowell told the 20-year-old from Rockwall, Texas.
“Mr. Tambourine Man” was Castro’s second song of the evening, the first being the classic Bob Marley song, “I Shot the Sheriff,” which also received a terrible review from Cowell.
