Star and Inquirer Claim Mary-Kate Olsen in Rehab For Cocaine Addiction

Written by: Jackie Backman

The two magazines report the young media mogul has a drug problem, not an eating disorder.

Speculation over Mary-Kate Olsen's weight loss continues, as Star magazine and the National Inquirer report she was admitted into a rehab facility for a cocaine addiction, not anorexia.

According to the reports, the eighteen-year-old was admitted to the exclusive Cirque Lodge in Utah on June 11, were she was previously thought to be receiving treatment for an eating disorder.

Olsen's spokesperson adamantly denies the rumors, telling reporters "The bottom line is that Mary-Kate was not admitted for drugs - period." According to several published reports, Olsen's lawyers are considering filing a libel suit against American Media, Inc, which owns both magazines.

"We knew how explosive this story would be, and it's been fact-checked and fact-checked and fact-checked. We have all the confidence in the world that our reporting is on the money," said an American Media spokesperson. "If they were going to sue us, they would have done it already."
