The Police will end reunion tour in New York.
Rock band The Police have announced that the finale of their current successful reunion tour will be in New York.
According to Billboard, the trio's tour, which started a year ago and has grossed nearly $200 million, will end this summer. The proceeds from the band's final show, which will be broadcast on Public Television, will benefit public cultural arts programming.
In conjunction with the band's final performance, the trio will also “donate $1 million to New York,” as incentive to have one million trees planted in New York within nine years. The band's contribution will be matched by the city for this evironmental project.
With more than 30 years in the business, ending the tour in New York will be befitting, as the city is where the band debuted their very first career tour in 1978.
