Police have decided to release this songstress on bail.
After eight hours in an East London police academy, Amy Winehouse was released on bail. This British singer voluntarily came to the academy around 1 P.M. Wednesday, according to Celebrity-Gossip.net, and was arrested shortly thereafter.
Winehouse was arrested due to suspicion of drug possession. EFluxMedia cited that Winehouse’s rep said in a statement: “Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is cooperating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year.”
The video was footage of 24-year-old Winehouse using a crack pipe to smoke crack cocaine at her East London home. Celebrity-Gossip.net said this was after a “19-minute drug binge,” which was also recorded on camera, according to eFluxMedia.
A British newspaper, the Sun, obtained the video and sent a copy to British police. Scotland Yard is still deciding whether a further investigation is needed.
After the release of the footage, Amy Winehouse entered rehabilitation. She won five Grammys at the 2008 Grammy Awards. EFluxMedia cited that despite everything, Winehouse was entered in The Sunday Times Rich List 2008, with a net fortune worth around £10 million pounds.
