New Outrageous Celebrity Reality Shows

Reality shows storm TV schedules.
The writers’ strike visibly took a large toll on today’s television market. There must not be much substantial material, for many celebrities are now getting their own reality shows for an inside look at the glamorous Hollywood life.
In TV Guide’s special “Sexy” issue, the E! network got a “Jeer” for giving Pamela Anderson a show. “Viewers will get to know the real woman behind the famous breasts and follow Pam as she tries to juggle love, career and peace of mind,” said the network. The show is tentatively titled Pamela, and plans to air July.
Denise Richards is also following the E! lineup, with Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, to educate viewers behind her public split from ex-hubby Charlie Sheen. She hopes to set some rumors straight, such as whether she stole Heather Locklear’s once-spouse Richie Sambora. There are suspicions that putting her two children, Lola, 2, and Sam, 4, in her TV show will do no good. Richards defends herself; “Every single reality show had kids, yet I’m being singled out as exploiting my children. [Without them,] people will say, ‘So much for her being the hands-on mom that she portrays herself to be.’” TV Guide said that Richards doesn’t know how her ex feels about this, because they don’t really speak.
Some other celebrities joining the reality extravaganza include Ali Lohan (with E!) showing her life as an aspiring actress and singer, and Jennifer Lopez (with TLC) for a docu-series showcasing her life as a fashion enterpreneur, her musical and acting career, and Lopez as a new mommy.
