Nick Hogan Goes to Jail
Nick Bollea, son of wrestling veteran Hulk Hogan, has been spending time in court for a car crash that occurred in August 2006, leaving the passenger in his car, John Graziano, with severe brain damage after their car slammed into a palm tree during a race between two of his father's cars. Bollea was driving one of the cars, but did not suffer any major injuries.
Bollea has had a history of speeding problems, according to MyFox Tampa Bay, as he was pulled over for driving 107 MPH on a highway in Florida, and 19 miles later driving 115 MPH, in September 2006. According to a lawsuit, Hulk Hogan was in the car with his son at this time. In April 2007, he was ticketed for driving 106 MPH on a highway, and again in February 2008, he was ticketed for driving 57 in a 30 MPH zone. Allegations lead to Hogan's knowledge of his son's practice of "drifting" on public roads. His mother, Linda, is quoted as saying [about speed racing], "Oh, I love it. I love it. The rush, the speed on the road, stereo blasting, heart pounding, racing between all the cars, dodging the cops, it's awesome."
Hogan's attorney was not surprised after the lawsuit, and told MyFox, "You're always going to have lawsuits after a tragic accident."
Graziano, a military veteran, was not wearing a seatbelt, and some believe he was to be at fault for his actions. Hogan was sentenced to eight months in jail and five years probation, which Graziano's parents believe is an undercharge. His father said in court, "What al-Qaeda could not do to my son, Nick Hogan did in minutes, destroying his future." Seeming so angry, they had requested Hogan get six months to a year in jail, so his sentencing is nothing for them to complain about.
