Kid Rock Teams Up with Lynyrd Skynyrd
11-May-2008
Written by: Hillary Frazier
Kid Rock is making his comeback by releasing a gospel album.
Ex-husband of Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock, has ditched his rapping ways for southern-rock and gospel. The biggest surprise may be in who Kid Rock is set to tour with next, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer: Lynyrd Skynyrd. The “Rock and Rebels” tour is set to begin in August, according to Buzznet, as they express hopes that the sets will end with “Freebird,” being a prime example of the American image the two represent.
The 11-piece Twisted Brown Trucker Band will back Kid Rock, and will also be joining him on The Late Show with David Letterman this Wednesday to perform “All Summer Long,” the newest Kid Rock release. Never fear rap fans, Kid Rock will not completely abandon his rapper roots, as according to Buzznet, he has a side project with Run DMC and plans to make a hip-hop album after his gospel album releases.
So far, the tour dates show Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio, Indiana, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Ontario, and Connecticut running from August 8-31.
