“America’s Next Top Model 10” Declares Winner
15-May-2008
Written by: Danielle Terreri
“America’s Next Top Model” has declared its first plus size model as winner.
The final episode of America’s Next Top Model 10 followed the three finalists, Anya, Fatima, and Whitney as they shot for a CoverGirl print spread and TV commercial. The winner would be displayed on a Wal-Mart ad and on a billboard in Times Square.
According to latimes.com, the commercial shoots were not as successful as had been expected. Fatima and Anya stumbled and rushed their lines while Whitney was accused of appearing “fake.” Although it was decided that Anya eluded the CoverGirl charm, Whitney’s picture was most favored. Fatima was eliminated.
The two remaining finalists were instructed to walk the runway twice in clothes handpicked by Donatella Versace. The judges considered Whitney the obvious winner, as they were unsatisfied with Anya’s walk.
As winner of America’s Next Top Model 10, Whitney received a contract with Elite Model Management, a cover and six-page spread in Seventeen magazine, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics, as reported by tvsquad.com.
