Indiana Jones Returns to Cannes After 19 Years
After premiering at the Cannes film festival, Indiana Jones receives great reviews from the critics. Nineteen years after the last film debuted, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is set to release. Harrison Ford returns for his second Indy movie, reuniting with his Raiders of the Lost Ark costar, Karen Allen. Ford, 65, says during the film, that it's "not as easy as it used to be," according to Reuters. Newcomer to the series is Indy's young sidekick, Mutt Williams, played by Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf, who says during the film, "What are you, like 80?"
When the credits rolled there was a mild applause, and mostly good reviews from the critics. Todd McCarthy of Variety wrote, "Nineteen years after their last adventure, director Steven Spielberg and star Harrison Ford have no trouble getting back into the groove with a story and style very much in keeping with what has made the series so perennially popular."
