Idol Contestant Luke Menard Diagnosed with Cancer
Top 16 contestant Luke Menard has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 29.
This week was all cheers as David Cook was crowned the American Idol, but sadly, a former Top 16 contestant, Luke Menard, has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, according to VoteForTheWorst.com. Celebritytv.com reported that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society said Hodgkin's Lymphoma may be treated, and has "a high cure rate."
The 29-year-old Menard married four years ago, and told AmericanIdol.com that his toughest obstacle has been "watching my uncles die at a young age within the past year." He also added his favorite quote as, "Don't fight. But if you have to . . . hit first and hit hard." American Idol fans nationwide will be supporting Menard in his fight with cancer, hoping he can beat it with "one hard hit."
