Bow Wow Joins “Entourage,” Transitions to Acting
27-May-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril

Bow Wow is now focusing on acting.

In the upcoming season of Entourage, the producers of the show have added another member to the show’s cast.

Rapper Bow Wow will join the HBO show for its fifth season, playing a stand-up comedian who is managed by Eric (Kevin Connolly). The early stages of “E” branching out were set up last season with Connolly’s character purchasing his own office in Los Angeles and attempting to acquire new clientele.

Like many other music artists (Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, etc.), Bow Wow is attempting to make the transition into acting. And unlike those listed in the parentheses, Bow Wow is fully throwing his weight behind his acting career.

“After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I’ve decided to shift my energy to something else I’m passionate about, acting,” Bow Wow said. “I’m going to try to be the next Will Smith.”

The 21-year-old rapper has previously starred in films such as Roll Bounce and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. He has also appeared on Ugly Betty, Smallville and Moesha.
