Written by: Hillary Frazier

MCR member Frank Iero will join other rockers to pay tribute to the 1980s band, The Cure.

According to Buzznet, Frank Iero, member of the emo-rock band My Chemical Romance, has decided to take the reigns on paying tribute to a 1980s band, The Cure. The Love Cats, named after a 1983 Cure single, brings other rockers, Andrew Everding of Thursday, Pete Steinkop and Michael McDermot of Bouncing Souls, DJ Values of Let it Burn, and Matt Scara of Pitch Black Blonde.

The Love Cats are set to pay their tribute at a bowling alley in Ashbury Park, NJ, and Tragedy, a Bee Gees tribute band, will be opening.

Aside from his tribute, Iero is waiting for the release of MCR’s live CD/DVD, The Black Parade Is Dead, set for June 24.
