Diddy Tries to Shut Down Web Site Cuff-Daddy.com
Despite his huge success as a jack of all trades, Sean Combs refuses to allow even a small Web site selling discount cuff links to bear any semblance of his name. As reported by TMZ.com, music mogul, clothing designer Sean Combs, more commonly known as Diddy, unleashed his big-time lawyers on a Web site called Cuff-Daddy.com, a small, family-owned cufflink seller.
They sent a letter to the company telling them that the business's name was way too similar to his. Arguably though, Combs changed his name quite some time ago from Puff Daddy to P. Diddy.
The owner of the company told TMZ they are going to post a disclaimer on the site to minimize any confusion about the name. They also say they hope to resolve this with Diddy's lawyers as quickly as possible, and are in no way trading on his name-- they're just trying to run their small business.
Representatives for Combs did not return calls for comment.
