Nick Bollea Wants Out of Solitary Confinement

Bollea, serving prison sentence for causing an auto accident requests release from solitary confinement

It seems as though Nick has caught a slight case of cabin fever.

Nick Bollea, son of wrestler Hulk Hogan, is serving eight months in jail after pleading no contest to causing a car crash that seriously injured his friend. The charge stems from an Aug. 26 car crash where Bollea smashed into a palm tree near downtown Clearwater, Fla. His friend and passenger, John Graziano, 23, was critically injured in the accident and remains in a semi-conscious state at James A. Haley Medical Center in Tampa.

As reported by Yahoo!, the 17-year-old is being held in solitary confinement at the Pinellas County Jail's medical ward because he is too young to join the jail's general population.

Kevin Hayslett, Bollea's attoryney, argued in a motion filed Friday that the solitary confinement is causing him "unbearable anxiety." Reportedly, Bollea spends up to 17 hours a day alone in his cell and does not have access to amenities like educational programs.

Hayslett asked a judge to consider alternatives like releasing him with ankle monitoring until his eighteenth birthday or moving him to the jail's minimum-security section.
