Governor Schwarzenegger's Approval Rating Dropping
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 38th Governor of the state of California, has seen his approval rating lower significantly over the past six months. According to Mike Zapler of the Mercury News, Schwarzenegger's approval rating has lowered 19 percentage points since last December, as it currently stands at a 41 percent rating.
The poll that was taken illustrates the people of California's response to Schwarzenegger's plan to correct the state's budget epidemic. California currently has a $15.2 billion deficit and Schwarzenegger, according to Zapler, has recently proposed a plan that will cut health and social service programs significantly.
One of the underlying reasons why Governor Schwarzenegger won re-election was because of a promise that he made to the people of California to correct the state's budget problems, according to Zapler. Currently, Governor Schwarzenegger is proposing an enormous expansion of the state's lottery in an attempt to help the state budget.
