Obama and McCain Must Rid Voters of Doubts About Economy
Exit polls of voters from this year's primaries show that voters doubt how Republican presidential candidate John McCain and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will attempt to correct our nation's currently struggling economy, according to the Associated Press.
With the economy being one of the most important issues of this year's election, each candidate will attempt to dispose of the voters' doubts in the coming months.
Statistics from the primaries show that neither Obama nor McCain received even half of their party's votes from those who viewed the economy as the most important issue in need of correction.
A statement that McCain made months ago in which he said that the economy was far from his strong point in the upcoming election hurts him in the eyes of many voters who view the economy as the underlying factor in this election.
For the Democratic nominee, Obama, he will need to focus strongly on the economy in order to address one of the voters' biggest concerns. Obama does not have a great deal of support from Democratic voters who have been most affected by the struggling economy.
