Efron Insists He, and Most of the Cast Are Finished with H.S.M.

Here’s some disappointing news for the younger demographic.
As June comes around, it’s that time again. Time for High School Musical to challenge all sorts of records for cable broadcasts, but it could very well be the last for this cast.
According to an interview given to MTV, Zac Efron insists that this summer’s High School Musical 3 will be the last for much of the cast, including himself, as he previously said in January.
And he hasn’t wavered at all from his previous statement.
“This is probably going to be the last one for a lot of the cast,” he said. “It’s graduation, a lot of us have to move on.”
The franchise, as is the case with nearly every successful movie and television show these days, will go on. High School Musical 4 has already been announced, but Efron will continue to work on his own movies with a sense of pride regarding his time with HSM.
“It’s kind of an honor to have ever been a part of it. So I’m thrilled just to have done it, the fanbase that it created,” he said. “We’re making a great third film and I think it’s going to be a great legacy to leave for the Wildcats.”
