Britney's Ex- Has His Say

The British tabloid News of the World apparently paid good money to hear Jason Alexander tell all about his wild and short-lived January marriage to pop star Britney Spears. Britney's recent engagement to dancer Kevin Federline may be Alexander's reason for breaking the silence; he says that, until recently, he hoped he and Britney might get back together, but says, "I now realize she won't come back to me."

January's wedding occurred when Alexander and Spears went to Las Vegas to celebrate the New Year. According to Alexander, it was Britney who proposed. They were cuddling naked in bed, when Spears apparently said to him, "I want to ask you something but I don't know how to." When he told her to go on, she shyly asked, "Will you marry me?" When Alexander answered yes, she threw on her jeans and they were off to the chapel.

The pair enjoyed a few hours of wedded bliss, and then then called Britney's mother, who yelled and screamed until the star's lawyers got Alexander to sign papers to annul the marriage.
