Jolie Pledges to Help

Angelina plans to make a video to help Sophie Wilkinson, who has been in a coma for five months.

Hollywood actor Johnny Depp and heavily pregnant A-Lister Angelina Jolie have publicly given their full support to help wake up the Hampshire teenager, Sophie Wilkinson.

According to Hampshire News, Jolie is following after the Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden, who took time out from the live shows last week to record a message for the 17-year-old and has promised to send Sophie a recorded video message.

However, now the Wilkinson family is attempting to appeal to local companies to pledge their support and help them reach their £300,000 fundraising goal to help their daughter.

Sophie Wilkinson has been in a coma for the past five months, since the car in which she was a passenger smashed into another car. Reportedly, she was being driven by an 18-year-old who had passed his test a mere 24 hours prior to the accident. The Sophie's Gift fundraising program was set up to raise the money for a mobile head and neck scanner for the Wessex Neurological Centre at Southampton General Hospital.

Her mother, Alison, and father, Andrew, from Bishops Waltham, have set the enormous target of raising the amount at a smashing gala ball on July 5, but hope businesses will jump on board Sophie's Community Web site to start the flow of cash rolling in. For just £1,000, each company will get their logo on the site, linked to a profile page advertising the company.

Andrew said: “Even with their busy schedules, top Hollywood stars like Angelina and Johnny have taken time out to pledge their support to Sophie, now we hope Hampshire businesses will.

“We are doing the community site so that we can get companies involved with raising money for an important piece of equipment that could one day help save the life of someone they know.”
