Amy Winehouse's Husband Pleads Guilty to Assault
According to CNN.com, Blake Fielder-Civil, the husband of British singer Amy Winehouse, has reportedly admitted to assaulting a man in a bar, and to trying to deny it. Fielder-Civil was being tried in London for attacking a pub landlord, James King, and then conspiring with King so that he would withdraw as a witness, according to CNN. He and three other defendants pleaded guilty last week, but the judge wanted to wait until after King had faced a separate trial. Fielder-Civil faces a maximum of five years for the assault.
Since their marriage in May 2007, Fielder-Civil has been in jail awaiting his trial, and Winehouse has been all over the tabloids for her drug use and run-ins with the police. Rencently, Winehouse has had to defend herself against racism allegations after a video, filmed by Fielder-Civil, features Winehouse and another woman singing many racist lines to the tune of a children's song, according to CNN.com. She defended herself to the paparazzi saying, "I don't want to play anything down, but I'm the least racist person going."
