According to the results of a survey given in Britain, Johnny Depp has been dubbed Britain’s favorite actor. According to BBC.com, Depp topped other stars such as Daniel Craig, Sean Connery and Orlando Bloom in the poll conducted by the Cinema Advertising Association (CAA).
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, 45, gained the largest number of votes across all ages and genders.
Anna Cremin, spokeswoman for the CAA stated Depp's “wide appeal” was down to his ability to move “from serious films like Donnie Brasco to blockbusters and comedies.”
She added: “Few other actors have managed to be so versatile.”
The CAA conducted the research with 3,000 people aged 7 and over.
Despite Depp’s chameleon-like ability and success gained throughout his extensive career, he has yet to receive an Academy Award. He was nominated for three. Depp took over the role of Heath Ledger's character after his untimely death in his Manhattan home in January.
The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star lives in France with his long-time girlfriend and their two children.
