Democratic Congressman Boren Will not Endorse Obama
Dan Boren, the only Democrat in the Oklahoma's delegation, stated yesterday that he won't be endorsing his political Party's presidential candidate, Barack Obama, in the upcoming general election. Part of Boren's reasoning behind refusing to support him is because a majority of his peers gave their votes to his opponent, Hillary Clinton, in the Democratic primary, according to Fox News.
Boren told the Associated Press that he could not go against the people who elected him into office in the first place. The Congressman's announcement to not endorse Obama comes as he is set to run for re-election.
Another reason Boren has decided not to endorse the Democratic candidate is because he believes that the candidate is, "The most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate."
According to Fox News, spokeswoman for Obama's campaign, Jen Psaki, immediately responded to the news, saying, "Congressman Boren has his facts wrong. Barack Obama has a long history of working across the aisle to get things done and make a difference for working people."
