McCain Campaigns in Massachusetts Wednesday During Fund-Raiser
Republican presidential candidate John McCain held a fund-raiser on Wednesday in Massachusetts, attempting to gather support for his upcoming campaign in the general election. McCain was able to earn $2 million in fund-raising money yesterday, according to USA Today.
The biggest headline that was created about the fund-raiser was the fact that McCain did not appear to be fazed by the fact that Massachusetts is a deeply Democratic state. McCain explained to the audience, "I know this is a tough state for us to win in. I'll give you some straight talk; it's a tough state for us to win in. But I want to go everywhere."
McCain gave praise to his former opponent in the race for the Republican Party's presidential candidacy, Mitt Romney, during his speech, due to his recent support as well as his criticism of his opponent, Democratic nominee Barack Obama. The underlying message of the speech was that Obama's idea of withdrawing troops from Iraq immediately is an example of his inadequate foreign policies, according to USA Today.
