Tony Romo opens up about Joe Simpson

NFL quarterback Tony Romo told People that Joe Simpson did not ruin his relationship with daughter Jessica Simpson.

After rumors continued to swirl that Joe Simpson had ruined the relationship between his daughter Jessica Simpson and NFL quarterback Tony Romo, Romo decided to release a statement to People saying "it's all laughable."

Romo insisted that the reports were "so far from the truth" that Simpson was interfering with his business affairs and that his parents did not like the Simpson family.

A source confirmed to People that Romo's father went to the Masters golf tournament earlier this year with Joe Simpson, and the two "had a great time."

Romo and Simpson also spent time with Simpson's family when the two were seen at a lunch date with Jessica's sister, newly married and pregnant Ashlee Simpson, and her husband Pete Wentz, at a restaurant in Encino, Calif.

A source told People, "Jess was giggling and grabbing onto Tony...it was cute to see the sisters and their guys having such a good time."
