Jindal receives endorsement from Gingrich.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich publicly endorsed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal yesterday on CBS's Face the Nation.

Gingrich provided his support for the governor's quest to potentially become Republican presidential nominee John McCain's vice presidential running mate in the upcoming general election.

Jindal has served in the U.S. House of Representatives for three years and as Louisiana's governor for approximately six months, according to the Carpetbagger Report.

The Louisiana governor is viewed in the political world as an extremely conservative individual who supports people making decisions for themselves.

Gingrich addressed the fact that the highly regarded Jindal is only 37 years old by counter-attacking, comparing the governor's experience with that of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama.

"The case can be made that Jindal's experience in the executive branch and in the legislative branch is greater than that of Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama," said Gingrich on Face the Nation yesterday.
