23-Year-Old Aspiring Teacher in Philly Killed over an iPod

Robber takes only iPod, not wallet, cash or backpack.

Beau Zabel, a 23-year-old aspiring teacher in Philadelphia, was tragically shot and killed early Sunday morning in an apparent robbery attempt, according to ABC News.

Zabel was walking home from Starbucks, where he had a part-time job in the southern region of Philadelphia. According to ABC News, the aspiring teacher was shot in the neck by a 9-millimeter handgun and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Philadelphia police department is under the impression that Zabel was followed out of the Starbucks and was a target for a potential robbery.

The victim was wearing a backpack at the time, but the unidentified robber took only his iPod, leaving his money and his wallet that were inside of the backpack behind.

Captain James Clark of the Philadelphia police department gave a public statement saying, "We believe his iPod was taken. From family and friends, he always has that and his pocket was turned inside out where he does keep it, so at this point we do believe an iPod was taken during this robbery."
