Obama Leading McCain in 3 Crucial States
Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is leading Republican presidential nominee John McCain in three crucial swing states in the upcoming general election, according to survey released earlier today by CNN's political tracker.
The survey was performed by Quinnipiac University in order to show the current level of support for each presidential hopeful.
In Pennsylvania, Obama holds a 12 point percentage lead over the Republican nominee, 52 to 40, despite his loss in the state's Democratic primary. The Democratic presidential hopeful also holds a six point advantage over the McCain in the state of Ohio, 48 to 42.
But perhaps the most surprising statistic from the survey is the 47 to 43 lead the Democratic nominee has in the state of Florida, where Obama didn't even campaign during the party's primaries.
CNN is reporting that in the University's survey results from last month, McCain held the lead over Obama in Ohio and Florida. Former Democratic presidential hopeful Senator Hillary Clinton's decision to concede from the race appears to have had a strong impact on the sudden fluctuation in both states.
