Republican Party in Toledo unhappy with television ad

WTOL News in Toledo is reporting that liberal political action group Moveon.org has created a television ad that is scheduled to air for the first time later today.

The advertisement is just one in a series of ads that the liberal group has created in an attempt to appeal to those who are anti-John McCain in the upcoming general election.

WTOL News is reporting that one of the advertisement’s, created in response to McCain’s controversial statement that the war in Iraq could last for another 100 years, features a mother holding her son while she speaks into the camera.

In the ad, the mother says, “So John McCain, when you would stay in Iraq for a hundred years, were you counting on Alex? Because if you were, you can't have him.”

The television advertisement exemplifies Moveon.org’s concern over McCain’s foreign policy, which they refer to as reckless. Republicans in Toledo have responded immediately, praising McCain as a war hero and downgrading the ad for its usage of a child to invoke sympathy, according to WTOL News.
