“The Last Call“ grabbed by Universal

The graphic novel “The Last Call“ has just been grabbed by Universal to be put into production.
Universal has picked up another graphic novel that they plan to put into works for a film. The graphic novel “The Last Call” has been chosen and Evan Spiliotopoulos is set to write the screen adaptation, reported Reuters.
The novel is written by Vasilis Lolos and was first published in 2007. The series is about two teens who get hit by a “ghost train” on its way to the next dimension with its cargo of souls. They find themselves on the train trying to solve the mystery of how to get back to their regular lives, according to Reuters.
Spiliotopoulos has worked on projects like “Lion King 1 1/2” and “Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie” and has also written an adventure feature for Fox called “The Box,” according to Reuters.
“Last Call” is the fourth project from the Oni Press that Universal has grabbed. “Scott Pilgrim” is up for production with Edgar Write direction and Michael Cera to star, according to Reuters. There are also “Leading Man” and “Resurrection” up on deck for the studio.
