Wife of Democratic nominee addresses public criticism
The wife of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, made her scheduled appearance on ABC’s “The View” early this morning, according to Fox News. As a guest host on the show, she was able to address a few public criticisms of her that have arisen throughout her husband’s campaign trail.
Perhaps the most controversial statement that she has made in recent months came when she stated that she was proud of her country for the first time back in February. The potential first lady stated during the appearance on “The View” that she has always been patriotic in an attempt to diffuse the situation.
According to Fox News, Michelle also showed her gratitude over the current first lady, Laura Bush’s, public defense of her comments during an interview.
Obama said on the program, “And that’s what I like about Laura Bush. You know, just calm, rational approach to these issues. And you know, I’m taking some cues. I mean, there’s a balance. There’s a reason why people like her. It’s because she doesn’t, sort of, you know, fuel the fire.”
