Daytime Star Denied Visa
21-Jun-2008
Written by: C.J. Trent

Martha Stewart not allowed to travel to Britain.

Though she is no longer under house arrest, it appears the homekeeping maven’s leash doesn’t stretch across the Pacific. Because of her 2004 conviction for conspiracy, obstruction of agency proceedings and making false statements, Britain has decided to refuse to allow Stewart entry, as per Reuters.

The reason for Stewart’s visit was business-based; Reuters quotes Charles Koppelman, chairman of the homemaker’s company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. as saying, “She has engagements with English companies and business leaders and hopes this can be resolved so that she will be able to visit soon.”

Stewart’s conviction, and her subsequent prison stay and house arrest, were based on the 2001 selling of her stock in ImClone Systems, Inc.
