Stevie Wonder Begins a Summer Tour
This past Wednesday, Stevie Wonder played his first of twelve shows on his brief summer tour in Long Island, NY. He has not toured in years, though he has played a few shows last year, but says he is excited to be back on the road, especially since the summer is magical. The tour will end on July 14 in Canada. The tour will take the icon to several cities, including Detroit, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The message that Wonder wants to convey and really get across to listeners is of unity and the perpetuation of life, no matter race, religion, etc.
Next year, he will complete a tour in Australia during the spring and then tour around Europe in the late summer and early fall. His daughter, Aisha Morris, also a musician, will accompany him on the tour and play for the audience.
Over the many years of his career, he has won 25 Grammys, sold more than 100 million records, and is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His first album was released when he was 12. He will be putting out an album, dedicated to his mother, in 2009, entitled Gospel Inspired by Lula, reported Reuters.
