Christie Brinkley Mid-Divorce

Christie Brinkley, supermodel and mother of three, is currently in the midst of a messy divorce from her estranged husband, Peter Cook. She has found herself unhappy about the manner in which her soon to be ex-husband is handling the press over the divorce.

On Thursday, various TV shows started reporting that Brinkley wanted the divorce trial (which is set for July 2) to be public, but Cook opposed this for the sake of their two young children, Sailor and Jack. Sources close to the star say this is ridiculous. "For one thing, all cases are public already," the source said to Fox News. Instead, it is more likely that Peter Cook is trying to save his reputation, which has already been ravaged in regard to his relationship with Brinkley.

Two years ago, Cook had been caught having an affair with 18-year-old Diana Bianchi. This caused the ten year marriage between Cook and Brinkley to fall apart. Brinkley's lawyer insinuated that there is much more than meets the eye here. When Brinkley and Cook were married in 1996, a singer, Samantha Cole, who was then 19 years old, came forward revealing that she had been dating Cook up until the time he married Brinkley.

Two years ago, in the wake of the recent indiscretion, Cole said, "Peter asked me to marry him in May [1996], and in June [1996] he was engaged to Christie," saying neither of the two knew about the other.
