Anne Hathaway's Ex Arrested

People reported that ex-boyfriend of Princess Diaries, The Devil Wears Prada and the new Get Smart star Anne Hathaway has been arrested for fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy. The couple broke up earlier this month, but Hathaway's name is not mentioned in the complaint.

People speculates that Follieri had used the stolen money for a trip to the Dominican Republic for New Year's when the two had been dating. The U.S. Attorney's Office also reported that he had used stolen money for paying his $37,000-a-month rent, medical bills for himself and Hathaway, and orthodontist bills for his father.

According to a press release, Follieri could spend the rest of his life in prison for multiple charges: six counts of wire fraud, each with a max of 20 years in jail; five counts of money laundering, each with a max of 20 years; one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, with a max of 5 years.

Follieri hasn't had a clean past either, in April he was arrested for writing a $215,000 bad check, but it was cleared when he repaid the funds. He was also under investigation by the New York State Attorney General's office for having no record of tax forms for his charitable Follieri Foundation, says People. No reports have been made that any money was stolen from Hathaway.
