Former President Clinton Endorses Obama for First Time
Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton, had been drawing criticism over the fact that in their most recent speeches, they had only mentioned Barack Obama's name a total of one time.
However, Bill Clinton has made a statement on Tuesday through his spokesman Matt McKenna that indicates he is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama is victorious in the upcoming general election.
The Associated Press is reporting that the statement that has been released by Clinton through McKenna reads, "President Clinton is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States."
During the Democratic Party's primaries, he was extremely vocal about his criticisms and concerns over a potential Obama victory. Interestingly enough, the former President and current Democratic presidential nominee have not spoken since Obama officially gained the party's nomination, according to the Associated Press.
