“Wipeout” Takes Tuesday Night
25-Jun-2008

The show was extremely impressive in its premiere, defeating Celebrity Family Feud, Hell’s Kitchen and America’s Got Talent.
Wipeout, ABC’s show that has a bunch of people run through a crazy obstacle course is currently the summer’s biggest show, surpassing the reigning king, America’s Got Talent.
The program garnered 10 million viewers, and a 12 share, Tuesday night, defeating both Talent and Hell’s Kitchen, which usually takes Tuesdays easily.
Wipeout’s strong premiere made it the highest rated premiere of a summer show since NBC’s Singing Bee last July.
ABC’s other Tuesday-night premiere also did well. I Survived a Japanese Game Show (bringing in 8 million viewers) also defeated Talent’s first hour. But unlike Wipeout, which aired before it, Hell’s defeated it.
The other premiere of the night was made by NBC’s Celebrity Family Feud, hosted by Al Roker. It also did well, attracting 8.8 million viewers.
