Alexa Ray Joel Defends Her Mother
Daughter with the "Piano Man" sticks up for her mother.
Alexa Ray Joel, Christie Brinkley's daughter with musician Billy Joel, has praised her mother's handling of her divorce from Peter Cook, WENN reports.
Joel feels her mother is correct in making the divorce so public. The 54-year-old model is set to duke it out in court with Cook on Wednesday, and there has been great discussion over whether Brinkley should be exposing her two young children with him to all of this dirty laundry.
Brinkley filed for a separation from Cook in 2006, due to his affair with a young assistant. The "Uptown Girl" has also accused her husband of looking up Internet porn. And for these reasons, her 22-year-old daughter, Alexa, feels her mother is in the right to make all the proceedings so open to the public.
"She's standing up for herself. I think that is admirable. There's such overwhelming support for her," defends Joel.
