Red Sonja Brought to Life Again

Rose McGowan will play Red Sonja in the upcoming movie about the warrior.
Red Sonja, a Marvel comic warrior, was first brought to life on the big screen by Brigette Neilsen in 1985, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as Lord Kalidor. Now she will be brought back to life on the silver screen by Rose McGowan, former Charmed star, reported Eonline.com.
The movie will be produced by her fiancé, Robert Rodriguez, and directed by Douglas Aarniokoski. This was announced Friday by Millennium Films and Nu Images. Red Sonja is the warrior in the Conan the Barbarian series fighting the evildoers who tore apart her family and home of Hrykania from a powerful sorcerer, Kulan Gath.
McGowan has starred in dark comedies, such as Jawbreaker, and the double feature Grindhouse as a dancer with a machine gun for a leg. She also cohosts on Turner Classic Movies’ The Essentials.
