Smith’s New Private Not a Scientology School
29-Jun-2008
Written by: Marques Camp

School director insists that private school is secular.

Actor Will Smith, star of the upcoming superhero flick, Hancock, will soon be opening a new private school in September, but school staff insist that it is not a school for Scientology, the Associated Press reports.

Jacqueline Olivier, the director for Will and Jada Smith's New Village Academy, said that the school will be a secular one, and that neither staff nor faculty will promote their own religions. She adds that the staff comprise various religions' faiths, including Scientology, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.

However, the school will use instructional methods developed by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of the Scientology religion.
