Lieberman Predicts Terrorist Attack in 2009 While Endorsing McCain
Senator Joseph Lieberman made a controversial statement On CBS's Face the Nation program, predicting that our country will likely be facing a terrorist attack in 2009. The Senator cited recent history as the underlying reason behind his prediction.
Lieberman told Bob Schieffer, the show's host, "Our enemies will test the new president early. Remember that the truck bombing of the World Trade Center happened in the first year of the Clinton administration; 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration."
The Connecticut Senator went on to claim that John McCain is better prepared to be the commander in chief of the United States than his opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Lieberman has been in complete agreement with McCain in terms of how to handle the nation's security as well as foreign policy throughout the Republican's campaign.
Lieberman was the Vice Presidential candidate for Democratic nominee Al Gore's campaign in the 2000 election. In the upcoming general election, the Senator is endorsing presidential nominee John McCain and has been rumored to be a potential Vice Presidential candidate for the Republican.
