The Other Cook Gets Record Deal

Kristy Lee Cook, who is recently engaged, has a record deal with 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville for an album full of twang. Her first single, "15 Minutes of Shame," will be released on August 11. Her album has no name at the moment and no set release date, but it will most likely come out after David Cook's currently untitled album.

The album will be recorded over the American Idol summer tour just like David Archuleta and David Cook. Both the Cooks' albums are set to be released this fall. Kristy Lee Cook joins past contestant Carrie Underwood at the record company and her album will be produced by Brett James, who cowrote Underwood's hit, "Jesus Take the Wheel."

Cook was once signed to the same record company when she was a teen, but had separated with the company before she recorded anything, reported Eonline.com.
