Christian Bale to Reinvent Terminator

The Terminator will be back but not with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The new Batman, Christian Bale, will take on the lead role in the next installment of the Terminator films, Terminator Salvation."

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Bale will be playing John Connor, who leads a group of survivors trying to stop the Skynet machines after a nuclear blast has destroyed most of humanity.

As Bale explained while in Los Angeles for the premiere of The Dark Knight, his take on the Terminator will be as innovative as the one on Batman.

"We have a responsibility to reinvent and revitalize The Terminator. Otherwise there is no point. Anything less is a failure," said Bale.

Terminator Salvation will be directed by McG (Charlie's Angels), with a cast including rapper Common, Bryce Dallas Howard and Anton Yelchin.
