Bomb Threat Made at LAX Airport Today, Suspect Detained
According to Mercury News, an unidentified man reportedly in his late twenties made a bomb threat to a police officer and was subsequently detained to be brought in for questioning, earlier today at the famous LAX, Los Angeles International Airport.
Spokesman for the local police, Jim Holcomb, told reporters about the appalling incident. Holcomb explained how the man approached a police officer, dropped the backpack that was in his possession at the feet of the officer and delivered various verbal threats.
The unidentified suspect told the officer, according to Holcomb, "I'm a terrorist, I've got a bomb in the bag and I'm going to blow it up now." The bag was confiscated and inspected, though the bag did not explode after various tests were performed on it.
Specifically, what was in the backpack has not been publicly disclosed and no individuals who were located inside terminals were evacuated, according to the Associated Press.
