Has A-Rod Split from His Wife?
3-Jul-2008

Reports say he has, but his mother-in-law and Lenny Kravitz say no.
Alex Rodriguez and his wife have split, just under three months after the birth of the couple’s second daughter, according to the Associated Press. The story from the New York Daily News came after reports putting Madonna and the Yankees slugger together.
Rodriguez has said nothing on the topic, even on three occasions Tuesday and saying “no” when he was asked for comment, reported AP. The Daily News reported Wednesday night on their Web site that an anonymous source said that Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, had separated after having “problems” for about three months,” according to AP.
Evangeline Scrutis, Cynthia Rodriguez’s mother, denied what the gossip Web site reported of her daughter having had romantic getaways with Lenny Kravitz in Paris, reported the AP.
“She is not! I know that,” Scrutis told the Daily News.
Kravitz also released a statement on Thursday: “Cynthia is a friend and is here with the godfather of her baby, who is also Alex’s trainer, his wife and their baby girl. She came here to escape from everything that is happening in New York City. I opened my home to her as a friend and I find it extremely hurtful that I am now being referred to as an adulterer.”
Rodriguez and his wife were married in 2002 and have two children, the youngest was born on April 21. Scrutis declined comment on her daughter and her husband, reported AP. Rodriguez went 2-for-3 Wednesday night with his 17th homer of the season and also came in four times for a score. It was Rodriguez’s 535th homer, moving him into the 14th place on the career hit list.
