McCain Believes Recent Criticism of His Campaign Has Been Justified

Republican nominee states that he is prepared to campaign from behind.

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain's campaign has received rampant criticism due to mismanagement, poorly planned events and an inconsistent message in recent weeks, according to Fox News.

During an interview with Carl Cameron of Fox News earlier today, McCain admitted that the criticism, to a degree, has been justified.

During the interview with Cameron, the Republican nominee stated, "I'm happy with where we are. We have been declared dead many times. There's been much criticism, some of it justified, from the media, but somehow we seem to stay in the race and we will stay in. . . . I think I'll be the underdog right up until a minute before the polls close in California."

McCain reiterated what he has been saying for weeks, later in the interview, claiming that he is most comfortable campaigning from behind.

The Republican nominee's sentiment comes in response to the fact that his opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, has led prominent support polls in recent weeks and the difference between the two has slightly increased in percentage points over the past week.
