McCain Contradicts Himself over Statements Made About Obama
3-Jul-2008
Written by: Steve Ruback

After spending weeks questioning Obama’s rumored fluctuation, he takes it back.

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain contradicted himself during an interview with Fox News earlier today in regards to statements that he has been making about his opponent, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, in recent weeks.

It has been no secret that the Republican has been attacking the Democrat over the fact that he claims the Democratic candidate is someone who will not keep his word and will easily fluctuate on previous statements.

However, during the interview earlier today, McCain showed that he is a candidate who will fluctuate on previous statements. The Republican presidential hopeful stated, “I’m sure he’s trustworthy. I admire Senator Obama. . . . I will run a respectful campaign with him.”

After giving that statement, he slightly backtracked by mentioning how his opponent has fluctuated about his methods of financing his presidential campaign.

Interestingly enough, McCain provided a statement during a speech on Saturday that completely contradicts his first statement about Obama. McCain said of his opponent during his speech, “You know, this election is about trust, and trusting people’s word. . . . And unfortunately, apparently on several items, Senator Obama’s word cannot be trusted.”
