“Friends” Movie on the Bleak Hollywood Horizon
3-Jul-2008

Aniston, Schwimmer break a promise and prepare to make a big screen adaptation.
We all secretly knew it was coming, and with the success of the recent Sex and the City pic, the writing is in the sand.
A Friends movie is likely going to be shot over the course of the next year, according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail.
Former costars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer, along with the other four ensemble cast members, are rumored to be set to put their pride behind them and cave to fan support—even though they were adamant about not making a movie when the hit NBC sitcom ended in 2004.
All that can be said about it is this: Think about the Growing Pains made for TV movie. In the '80s, America found the antics of the Seavers irresistible. Fast forward to the '00s, and minus a laugh track, and the magic wasn't quite there.
But hey, you have to love a show that started out as a glimpse into the life of hip twenty-somethings in NYC, and may end as a movie about a brood of aging, contemplative middle-agers.
Goes to show America can't let go.
