Brangelina Meets Indifference in Nice

Under the radar in an area that is used to the presence of celebrities.
Unlike the massive amounts of paparazzi attention that the couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, also known as Brangelina, is used to in most cities, they met indifference in Nice, France when Angelina was checked into a seaside hospital, anticipating the birth of her twins.
Nice is a more down-to-earth area than most, reported the Associated Press.
“Of course it is less glamorous. It’s more for active people, people who love art, sport and gastronomy,” said Isabelle Billey Quere, a tourism bureau spokesperson.
The couple can appreciate their privacy as there are no hoards of people attacking Brad Pitt as he enters and exits the hospital, nor do many tourists try to get photos of the famed couple and their children.
Nancy Wilson, a correspondent for People magazine, claimed that the French have always had an air of indifference when it came to celebrities.
“Celebrities are no better than them. French people are very proud, especially the women, who are very sexy and confident,” Wilson said.
“They see Angelina Jolie and don’t aspire to be her.”
Celebrities appreciate this indifference, according to Myriam Chokairy, another tourism spokesperson.
“Celebrities love Nice because they can be anonymous here, not like Monaco or Cannes,” said Chokairy.
“They can go around town and no one tries to approach them. It is very easy for them.”
