Ashley Dupre Drops Charges
5-Jul-2008

Ashley Dupre, of “Girls Gone Wild,” has dropped the $10 million lawsuit against its producer.
Ashley Dupre, the call girl involved in a scandal that brought down New York’s former governor, has dropped the lawsuit claiming Joe Francis, founder of “Girls Gone Wild,” exploited her image and name on the Internet, according to the Associated Press.
Dupre dismissed the $10 million federal lawsuit, according to documents filed on Thursday. When she signed the billing contract giving permission to appear in the “Girls Gone Wild” video, she was only 17, reported AP.
In a statement given on late Friday night, Francis said that “the truth invariably comes out, as I knew it would in this case. I am happy to, once again, be completely vindicated.” The lawsuit Dupre filed said she was on spring break in Miami Beach in 2003 when she was approached by the producers of the show and given alcoholic drinks before she signed a release agreeing to appear, reported the Associated Press.
Francis said Dupre made seven full-length videos while she was on the “Girls Gone Wild” bus for a week. Francis released a video shortly after the lawsuit was filed in which Dupre called herself Amber Arpaio and said yes when asked if she was 18 and if the footage could be used in a “Girls Gone Wild” video, according to AP.
Dupre also showed a driver’s license from New Jersey with her alleged name on it and with a birth date making her in her 20s. She came to fame in March when she became a call girl and became involved in the then New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s prostitution ring.
