Christian Bale Feels Cheated Out of Friendship with Heath Ledger

Bale opens up about how the loss of Heath Ledger has impacted him.
The Dark Knight star, Christian Bale, feels sad and angered regarding the untimely death of actor Health Ledger because he feels he was cheated out of getting to know a potential good friend better, WENN reports.
Bale admits that he and Ledger became fairly close while filming the latter’s final film and he is sad that Ledger’s sudden death took away the chance to get to know him better. “Heath was infectious,” recalls Bale. “His death makes me angry because I know our friendship would have blossomed had he not died.”
Regarding whether or not Ledger – who was found dead in his New York City apartment in January, victim of an accidental overdose – gave too much while playing the Joker, Bale theorizes: “I was obviously with him at that time, but I can only speak for myself. Yes, sometimes I look back and think, ‘Ok, maybe I went a little bit too far, committed a little bit too much of myself.’ But I don't regret doing it.”
Bale also sadly admits, “I keep catching myself talking about him in the present tense, which is very upsetting.”
“He was a fantastic guy, we had a lot of fun on set,” Bale summates.
